Sharing life

U-M is hoping to repeat this year—in the annual Blood Battle, that is. The contest pits U-M and Ohio State University in the weeks leading up to the annual football game. Last year, U-M collected more pints than its rival. Here, Theresa Vidalon, a graduate student studying social work, does her part. She says she donates every two months and has done so for the past five or six years. “It’s very important, and more people need to do it,” particularly at times such as this when the area blood supply is running short, she says. The Blood Battle is a service project of the co-ed service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega-Gamma Pi chapter. Donation sites will be set up on campus throughout the next week.
