James and Anne Duderstadt celebrate the renaming of the Media Union at a ceremony March 19. The James and Anne Duderstadt Center honors the University’s 11th president, whose association with the University spans 35 years, and his wife, who promotes awareness of the University’s history and its artistic treasures. James Duderstadt is University Professor of Science and Engineering and head of the Millennium Project, a research center concerned with the impact of various societal, economic and technological changes on the research, teaching and service activities of universities. It is housed in the building that now bears his name. (Photo by Paul Jaronski, U-M Photo Services)
