The overflow crowd in Hale Auditorium erupted into the first of four standing ovations for School of Business alumnus and New York City real estate developer Stephen M. Ross. He had just made the largest gift in the university’s history, $100 million. The Board of Regents renamed the school in his honor. Dean Robert Dolan said Ross’s generosity would help the school continue its reputation as a top business program in the nation.
