Timothy Lynch named chair of NACUA Board of Directors
Timothy G. Lynch, U-M vice president and general counsel, has begun his term as chair of the National Association of College and University Attorneys Board of Directors, effective June 25, 2025.
Lynch was elected as chair-elect to the NACUA board in May 2024, and will serve as chair until his board term ends July 1, 2026. He previously served on the board from 2016-19.

“We are thrilled to have Tim to lead the NACUA Board of Directors. He brings a wealth of experience to the position and is a deeply respected leader in the field of higher education law,” says NACUA’s president and CEO Ona Alston Dosunmu. “We look forward to working with Tim to support NACUA’s members.”
In recognition of his significantly innovative contributions and outstanding service to the NACUA and to the practice of higher education law, Lynch was awarded the First Decade Award in 2023.
The association’s purpose is to enhance legal assistance to colleges and universities by educating attorneys and administrators as to the nature of campus legal issues. It plays an equally important role in the continuing legal education of university counsel.
