Fresh, local produce returns to campus this summer
The U-M community will once again have access to locally grown fruits and vegetables as summer produce returns to the Ann Arbor campus.
A variety of markets and produce programs will be available across campus through September, offering fresh, locally sourced goods ranging from farm-fresh produce to handmade products and made-from-scratch foods.

Monthly summer markets at NCRC
The MHealthy Summer Market will return to the North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) on three dates: July 15, Aug. 19, and Sept. 16. The market will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the ground floor of Building 18.
The event features multiple vendors selling fresh produce, farm products, scratch-made pastas and baked goods, honey, hand-crafted items and other locally made foods.
Weekly markets at EAAHC and WAAHC
Weekly “M Farmers Markets” will also take place at the East and West Ann Arbor Health Centers (EAAHC and WAAHC). These markets offer fruits, vegetables and other farm goods, with payment accepted via cash or credit/debit cards. Shoppers are encouraged to bring reusable bags.
West Ann Arbor Health Center
Markets run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates:
- July 10 and 23.
- Aug. 6 and 20.
- Sept. 3 and 17.
East Ann Arbor Health Center
Markets are held on the following Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
- July 16 and 30.
- Aug. 13 and 27.
- Sept. 10 and 25.
Weekly produce boxes
MHealthy has partnered with Argus Farm Stop to offer weekly produce box subscriptions. Each box, priced at $30, contains six to nine seasonal items selected by Argus staff.
Boxes can be picked up at one of seven campus-area locations, including Maize and Blue Cupboard, the Bioscience Research Building, NCRC, West Ann Arbor Health Center and more.
Programs like these support the university’s commitment to being a health-promoting university and provide access to nutritious, affordable and sustainable locally sourced foods and products.
