Active U Autumn returns to get university community moving

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

This fall, the University of Michigan community is once again invited to get moving with Active U Autumn, the annual eight-week physical activity program sponsored by MHealthy.

Registration opens Sept. 2 and participants can begin tracking their activity minutes starting Sept. 15. All fitness levels and abilities are encouraged to sign up, whether they are looking to become more active or seeking extra motivation to get moving.

Research consistently points to the many benefits of physical activity, including improved brain health, reduced risk of disease, stronger bones and muscles and enhanced ability to carry out daily tasks.

Program highlights include:

  • The flexibility to participate as an individual or join a team.
  • Track activity minutes using the online portal or sync directly from an activity tracking device or app.
  • A dedicated Active U Autumn Slack channel to connect with other participants, share photos and find encouragement. Available to faculty and staff only.
  • Access more than 100 videos in MHealthy’s physical activity library, featuring sessions focused on strength training, cardio, yoga, meditation and more.
  • Participants are also invited to support the program’s charity of choice, U-M Child and Family Care. Donations support the U-M Children’s Centers, helping to enhance programming, update materials and the environment and periodically offer temporary financial assistance.

Active U Autumn is open to U-M faculty, staff, students, retirees and spouses/other qualified adults of employees. The deadline to register is Sept. 29.
