Preparations for closure of Wolverine Tower underway
The University of Michigan has begun to move units and services housed at Wolverine Tower to other locations in advance of the aging structure’s future demolition.
The continued maintenance of Wolverine Tower, now more than 50 years old, has become cost-prohibitive, and the building will be demolished at a future date.
The property will be retained by the university and repurposed once the future use is determined. These changes align with Campus Plan 2050’s goals of modernization and sustainability.
Constructed in 1973, Wolverine Tower, which is located at 3003 S. State St., was purchased by the university in 1992 to house administrative units. Most administrative units operating from Wolverine Tower are relocating to updated space at 1000 Victors Way. Staff moveouts began in phases in November.
The Office of University Development will be moving to a different location on a separate timeline next year.
For most other units, beginning Dec. 15, 2025, mail and deliveries should be directed to 1000 Victors Way, Ann Arbor, MI 48108. Wolverine Tower will close for operations in early spring 2026 and the university departments occupying the building will be fully relocated to Victors Way and other locations by that time. Phone numbers, email addresses and online services will remain the same.
