Children who have been treated at the U-M Trauma Burn Center attended Kids’ Burn Camp at Camp Manitou-Lin in Middleville, Mich., in August. Counselor Patrick Flynn, a burn survivor who was treated at the Trauma Burn Center, gives a lift to a camper (above). Girls in the Ottawa Cabin—including Trauma Burn Center patients Hannan Shihab, an Iraqi teenager burned in the war, and Christina Tait in the center of the group—share a laugh. Standing to the left are Sue Polan, Burn Camp coordinator; counselor Kristy Brown; and Pam Pucci, a registered nurse (below). Swimmers in Ol’ Lake Barlow—including Christian Cole, front right, who has been treated at the Trauma Burn Center—use the buddy system (bottom). For information about the camp, contact Polan at (734) 615-1967. (Photos by Marcia Ledford, U-M Photo Services)
