Lisa Patrell and daughters Meredith Patrell-Fazio, 10, and Evelyn Patrell-Fazio, 6, plant daffodil bulbs in the Nichols Arboretum. They were volunteers working on artist Susan Skarsgard’s project to plant 10,000 yellow daffodil bulbs. The line of flowers, Skarsgard says, might provoke thought and discussion among visitors about the “idea of lines, borders and imposed definitions.” Skarsgard, an MFA candidate in the School of Art & Design, will document the community involvement and related experiences with her thesis exhibition in the spring. There will be an opening celebration at the Arb in April when the flowers are in full bloom.
