A claw goes through the roof of a building that housed the Law School’s offices of development and alumni relations, and special events and communications. The property at the northeast corner of Hill and State streets will be the site of a new building for the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. The 80,000-square-foot Joan and Sanford Weill Hall—named for President Ford’s longtime friends, who gave $5 million to support construction of the building—is scheduled to be completed in August 2006. Another $2.5 million came from the Annenberg Foundation. Renderings for the new building, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, were approved by the Board of Regents in June.
