Wired editor to speak at i-Conference

Chris Anderson, editor-in-chief of Wired magazine, is a featured speaker at the i-Conference hosted by the School of Information Oct. 15-17 at the Rackham Building.
The conference features speakers and working sessions devoted to the evolving field of information. More than 300 faculty and graduate students of the iSchools will be on hand. The agenda is available online at iconference.si.umich.edu.

John Wilkin, interim co-university librarian, and Perry Willett, head of Digital Library Production Service, will address “U-M Digital Library Initiatives and the Google Book Search Project” at 1 p.m. Oct, 15; John Seely Brown, director emeritus with Xerox, will address “Learning Reconceived for the Networked Age” at 7 p.m. Oct. 15; Anderson will address “A Problem with the Long Tail” at 9 a.m. Oct. 16; and Christine Borgman, professor and Presidential Chair in Information Studies, University of California-Los Angeles, will discuss “Disciplines, Documents and Data” at 9 a.m. Oct. 17.
These sessions are free and open to the public.
